Pics + paint walk-through
Here they are. It's just a 3 picture long tutorial since the pics were so large it took forever to upload. On the first image, all I've done it prime with black and paint all visible flesh dark angels green. I've left the most shaded areas black - it looks good later on. Next step I've completed the paint job on the flesh. First coat is dark angels green, followed by snot green on every surface that is clearly visible. Next I start highlighting with goblin green. Voilà! The skull on the banner is painted in first scorched earth, then bleached bone, then washed with chestnut ink and a finishing touch of thinned-down black to make it appear even more old and grimy. The mushrooms are white with red spots on - I made those with a base color of bleached bone (which I left for the roots) and then white on top of it. I then dotted on red spots of blood red, a bit thinned down obviously. The banner shaft is scorched brown. Eyes (on moon and gobbo) are blood red, the moon (as shown on picture #2) is painted in iyanden darksun. I then put on a layer of bad moon yellow on both the moon and the flames around it - I then mixed an orange paint made up of roughly 50/50 bad moon yellow and blood red. I highlighted the moon with skull white and the flames with pure bad moon yellow. I painted his teeth bleached bone and also painted the inside of his mouth with blood red. My last finishing touch was highlighting every black surface by drybrushing codex grey on it. It all took me a few hours and I didn't do it in one go - I haven't had time for that. But this is the level of detail that I put into my minis, only I normally batch paint them. I did this one just for the sake of it.

Right...
Nothing ever goes the way you want it to go. I'm currently working 12 hour shifts every day except for saturday and sunday, so I don't have time to actually paint my models. I haven't had my computer up in days so I can't even upload all the pictures I've been taking. Makes me sad but what you gonna do... I can tell you that my standard bearer was finished a few days back. I myself think the banner was good, almost too good considering it's a goblin banner.
You'll have to wait a few more days... I'll try to get around in the weekend to upload pics + tutorial...

Lazy...
I've been terribly lazy lately. I'll start painting tomorrow, and I'll also upload a few pics. I think I'll do a small tutorial of how to paint a NG spearman standard bearer too. Stay tuned!

Long time no see!
I've been kinda bad at updating - mainly because I've had a few days off work and no access to a computer. Now my computer is back from the shop, good as new, and I've gotten a new addition to my army. My brother bought two used Spear chukkas for me as payment for a little debt (I paid his ticket on the train to get to the GW store the other week) - although they are used, they're only half-sprayed and not assembled. Great! Thank you... You will regret it, however... ;)
Painting has been a bit slow - been spending time with my girlfriend. I'll get back in the saddle next week though - pics will be coming more regularly now I hope. Thanks for being patient (if anybody's reading this)
If you are, please comment - if you're blogging about Warhammer or something like that, post an URL(:

Weekend...
Weekend is coming fast now. I wanted to have my 40 Night Goblin spearmen ready on sunday, looks like it might work out. I've got a few hours tonight and I'll have a few hours on sunday... Other than that, I don't think I can squeeze in more time for painting this weekend. After I'm done with those spearmen, I think I'll do my fanatics. After them I'll go for my spider riders, and then back to spearmen again... Or something...
We'll have to see!

Progress...
I had a little painting session yesterday. It didn't go as smooth as I had hoped for, my paint keeps drying up in the container - it's bumming me out because that means the colour doesn't come out just right on the model. Which means thing takes longer time. I think it's because of this insane heat wave we've got right now... Comes at a bad time, I'd really like to get some painting done. Also, the previous entry is not quite accurate. I have actually got 40 Night Goblin archers, not 20. I'm not sure I want even one mob of those fellers in my army, sure they are cheap but are they worth even their low points score? I don't like the idea of taking 20 models, of which 10 can shoot (points wasted imo) but I guess it's good to have a rank that I can take models from when casualties from shooting comes into play.
I've nearly completed my two Night Goblin mobs - I'll try to get them done by sunday. Pictures will be coming up as soon as possible but right now, as you know, my computer is in the shop. I have to rely on lending people's computers.
That's it for now, I'm at work now so I'll get home to paint later tonight. Cheers!
